About Us

Who We Are

Victorious Life Church of God began in the 1940’s as Willow Run Church of God during the automobile manufacturing development era.  Our congregation is part of the world’s oldest continuing Pentecostal denomination with headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee. This international organization has over 5,000 churches in the United States and remains one of the fastest growing denominations with thousands of churches in other countries around the world. There are over seven million members world wide. The sun never sets on the Church of God.

Because of our almost sixty (60) years of continuing ministry here in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and our association with one of the world’s  strongest Pentecostal organizations, we can offer many opportunities for spiritual help, guidance and ministry involvement.  If you are looking for a church with stability and respect, Victorious Life is the church for you and your family.

In fact, WE NEED YOU!  There are many hurting people in Ypsilanti and we want to be used by our Lord to help them. You and your family are welcome here and are encouraged to become involved in the many activities and ministry opportunities provided for all ages and special interest groups.

Our Vision

The 212 Degree Vision

This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. - Habakkuk 2:3

As a church body we must recognize the accuracy of the Statement: “To get what we’ve never had, we must do What we’ve never done.” At 211 degrees, water is hot. At 212 degrees, it boils.

We believe that God has a personal plan for the life of every person. His plan includes purity of heart, peace of mind, and partnership in Kingdom Ministry. In keeping with God’s plan, we will create an inviting, affirming, love saturated atmosphere Where God’s plan can be compassionately revealed and enthusiastically embraced with a spirit of expectation, community, and belonging.

STRATEGY:  Attitude, affirmation, and actions by Victorious Life Church go had-in-hand  In guiding our guests to see and feel God’s plan for their lives. Victorious Life Church will be “ready” to receive guests with open hearts and open hands by maintaining hospitality excellence, superior management of facilities, and a vibrant welcome spirit that says, “God loves you and so do we!”

What We Believe

  • In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
  • In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
  • That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
  • That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
  • That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
  • In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
  • Holiness to be God's standard of living for His people.
  • In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
  • In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
  • In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
  • Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
  • In the Lord's Supper and washing of the saints' feet.
  • In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
  • In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
